Calculating savings and CO2 reduction for your fleet

Fleet savings come down to cost per 100 km. An electric car using 18 kWh per 100 km, charged at the €0.21 AC tariff, costs about €3.8 per 100 km — considerably less than a diesel equivalent over the same distance.

The basic fleet calculation

Start from three numbers: annual kilometres, average consumption in kWh per 100 km, and the tariff you charge at.

At 30,000 km a year and 18 kWh per 100 km, a car takes roughly 5,400 kWh. At the €0.21 AC tariff, that is about €1,134 of energy per car per year.

Where the other savings hide

  • Overnight charging at the reduced €0.19 per kWh night tariff
  • Fewer wearing parts and simpler mechanical maintenance
  • Charging at your own depot instead of stopping en route
  • Central consumption reporting per vehicle

How is CO2 reduction reported?

Reduction is reported as the difference between the previous fleet's emissions and today's energy consumption. Credible reporting needs accurate session data — kWh per vehicle, per period and per site.

The ECHARGE charging platform records this for every session, so sustainability reports rest on real measurements rather than estimates.

As a calculation baseline we use diesel emissions of 26.5 kg CO2 per 100 km or petrol at 31.4 kg CO2 per 100 km, and energy from a coal-fired plant at 1,000 kg CO2 per 1,000 kWh, with a reduction rate depending on the energy mix you choose.
